Conor Gallagher is determined to win trophies with Atletico Madrid after being unveiled as the new Rojiblancos player alongside Robin Le Normaand, Alexander Sørloth and Julian Alvarez.

New Atletico Madrid midfielder Conor Gallagher has revealed his intention to help the Rojiblancos as much as possible, especially in bringing success to the club.

Gallagher joined Atletico Madrid from Chelsea for €40m including bonuses and has signed a contract with the Rojiblancos until 2029, becoming the fourth new member of the summer transfer window following Robin Le Normaand, Alexander Sørloth and Julian Alvarez.

‘I want to help the club as much as possible. My target is to win trophies. I came here to win trophies. It’s a big club that has won a lot of trophies. Hopefully we can win two or three more trophies together,’ said the 24-year-old midfielder.

Gallagher is also the first English player to join Atletico Madrid since Kieran Trippier left Atletico to return to Newcastle, and has spoken to former Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta about the move.

‘First of all, Kieran Trippier is a great player and an even better person. I spoke to him a lot about the club and what he thought. He said good things about me. The club is great, the fans are great, the city and that helped me make my decision.’
